Portuguese Professional Network
Yesterday, a forum topic on the Portuguese professional network, Star Tracker, was opened supposedly by Manuela Ferreira Leite and it clearly revealed who the author was not and the badly hidden agenda.
“Taking the International scenario into consideration of an accentuated economic recession, and baring in mind the Portuguese entrepreneurial fabric, in its majority made up of micro, small and medium sized companies (99% of the companies represent 2 million jobs and are the main source of national exports), it is proposed that we discuss the following”
Makes you want to read more, doesn’t it?
What really got me mad was the fact that most seemed honoured to have her there. I wonder what their reaction would be if it turned out to be a spotty intern armed with the copy & paste finger sequence that got him through higher education.
Whilst most dished out the formalities one actually commented on its excessive use – what he actually meant was that the network was not hers and in fact theirs so bowing to the almighty seemed disproportionate and actually quite silly. Others defended that it had to be her otherwise we would have to question all other entries in forums. Well actually I would add that we should question most entries that come from political parties, aren’t signed and make absolutely no reference to the site which they chose to interrupt. It’s not even a clever disguise – it’s actually WYSIWYG.
Social Media resulted from the audience’s need, that’s us not them, to converse and share in a transparent, honest and human voice – but above all converse. Manuela Ferreira Lopes claimed on national television that with the advent of the internet, yes the internet is here, she would not have to endure more rallies yet she allowed some novice to embark her brand on a virtual rally. It actually demonstrated an attack on the collective intelligence of all the professional networkers that took the initiative to share experiences and best practices for the good of all. By invading this space with yet another “press release” only helps build on the notion that Politics has no idea what to do and this seems to be the new shiny object of the day year.
As I write this post, I refresh the forum topic, to find that now most react favourable to my dig at Manuela Ferreira Leite. It’s good to know that we are in fact in control and won’t stand for political spamming.
