Her Blog!

You have to wonder what’s going on in some people’s heads! I’m kind of lost for words…

I am always impressed with those that integrate Social Media into their communications strategy – especially politicians whom we all perceive as having a distinct inability to listen choosing instead to discourse. It seems though, Manuela Ferreira Leite, leader of the opposition party in Portugal, is suffering from the inverse – too much ear to those that seem to know little or nothing about social media.

It’s not all about blogs, nor is it a setting-up-a-blog-in-2-minutes task – that´s the logistics, not the true understanding of the power of new media. This would probably be a great time for her to check out her official communications platform … just in case something MAJOR slipped by the overpaid, overhyped, undeserving, incompetent pr firm empowered to glorify ruin her reputation.

I could ramble for days but I’ll leave you with one question. What is a female politician, at the top of her career, running for prime minister, doing in promoting sexy women in chats, 1,500 hotels, love affairs in Portugal, Madonna’s IQ (this is apparently an official sponsor!) and easy credit? You think the money from AdWords is worth a reputation?

José Socrates & Manuela Ferreira Leite should start a group on LinkedIn: Twits & Tits.
Time to call in the pr department… or not.
